Messianic World Update: Current Middle East Tensions and U.S. Foreign Policy

Shalom, everyone. I’m Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries. Today’s date is February 2nd, of the year 2024, and I'd like to provide an update on the current state of affairs in the Middle East and discuss U.S. foreign policy under President Joe Biden.

The UNRWA, which stands for the United Nations Relief Worker Agency, has been operating since 1958, providing aid to Palestinian citizens in various locations like Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. However, the unfortunate reality is that this organization is riddled with corruption and has been cooperating with the Palestinians in illicit activities.

Recently, Israel was able to provide evidence that three employees of this U.N. organization participated in attacks on Israel. This led to major donor nations, including the U.S. and most European nations, defunding this UN sponsored organization. Despite this, other organizations within the U.N. are calling on these donor nations to return the funding so that UNRWA can continue what they ambiguously refer to as their "good work."

In Yemen, U.S. naval forces are combating Houthi rebels, who have launched attacks on international shipping vessels. The Houthi rebels claim to be assisting Hamas against Israel. However, their actions have largely resulted in a major impact on worldwide shipping. The only viable solution to this situation is for the U.S. to confront Iran, which is the main supplier of weapons to the Houthi rebels.

Furthermore, President Biden is still promoting the two-state solution as a cure for the entire Middle East. His plan is to declare a Palestinian state, demilitarize the West Bank and Gaza, and call for the return of all hostages over a staged period of time. However, this plan is far from reality, given that the Palestinians have clearly stated that they do not want a state. They want to eliminate Israel.

On a more personal note, I am deeply concerned about the safety of U.S. military forces who are put on the line seemingly without the support of U.S. government retaliation when our bases and soldiers get hit. I urge all of you to pray for Israel, the safe return of the hostages, and the safety of the IDF soldiers to bring this conflict to a resolution.

In closing, I would like to remind everyone of the global implications of these conflicts, particularly for Taiwan and China. Given the current U.S. foreign policy, it's clear that if China were to make a move on Taiwan, the U.S. would likely hesitate or possibly not do anything at all. Therefore, the people in Taiwan need to be praying for their situation.

Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
